Date sorting food was just one essential job that employees from Milestone Infrastructure (part of Suffolk Highways) helped out with at the foodbank recently. The group, who visited our warehouse on July 11, are encouraged to support good causes by offering themselves as volunteers during the year and this year Waveney Foodbank is one of their chosen charities.
Operations manager Jemma Jackson gave the the team of seven employees a brief introduction to the foodbank and what it does before putting them to work in the warehouse and said she was very grateful for their hard work and good humour throughout the day.
“They worked really well and their efforts sorting through the stock made a big difference,” she said. “Firms who support us in this way can make a very real contribution and if the volunteers enjoy themselves while they are here then that’s even better,” she added.
